The Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA), Coimbatore organized Texfair 2009 – largest expo of textile machinery, spares, accessories and other supporting services during July 24-27, 2009 at CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore.

At the inaugural function held on 24th July 2009, SIMA Chairman Dr K V Srinivasan welcomed the Chief Guest Shri C R Swaminathan, Chairman of Confederation of Indian Industry – Southern Region, Shri A B Joshi, Textile Commissioner, Shri Sridhar Varadaraj, Chairman, Textile Machinery Manufacturers’ Association, Mumbai, Shri N Subramaniam, Committee Member of Indian Textile Accessories and Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (ITAMMA), Shri Umesh J Shah, President of Textile Machinery and Mill Stores Merchants Association (TMMSMA), Coimbatore and the Exhibitors to the inaugural function. Deputy Chairman Shri J Thulasidharan briefed about Texfair 2009. Shri Sridhar Varadaraj, Shri N Subramanian and Shri Umesh J Shah offered felicitations. Vice-Chairman Shri S Dinakaran delivered vote of thanks.

At the Texfair expo machinery, spares manufacturers / suppliers and other supporting service providers from China, Switzerland, Germany, etc., apart from domestic players across the country catering to the various segments of the textile industry showcased their products and services.

The expos provided an opportunity for various clusters of the industry to know the latest improvements in technology and availability of domestic as well as import substitution spares. 105 exhibitors showcased their products and services in 150 stalls. The Expos attracted about 30,000 visitors.
